Synopsis: Meet Joe - an everyday guy who drowns his fries in ketchup and his afternoons with a fresh, cold pint. He loves taking walks through the park, watching his favorite movies… and brutally murdering anybody he suspects of being a disguised alien. Joe has been obsessed with aliens ever since an alleged Belgian UFO encounter in the ‘80s, and is convinced that the human race is in danger from “chameleons” walking among us. He’s hired a documentary film crew to follow him around, documenting his bursts of violence, to prove to the world he isn’t crazy. They quickly realize they must play along for their own safety.
KipKap is a brutal homage to Man Bites Dog, sharing a country of origin and subject matter with the classic original - but it still manages to stand on its own as a gritty killing spree flick. In it we follow Joe, an unreliable narrator, who either has everything figured out (or is really good at making it up as he goes along). Full of charismatic quips, black humor, the occasional dig at classism, and a string of murders that builds in brutality as the movie progresses, KipKap is sure to scratch the “noir serial killer” itch you might be having.
Includes two bonus short films from the director (with hardcoded English subtitles):
Le café noir (Black Coffee). We live in a world so depressing, that for some people the only choice is suicide. That’s where Café Noir steps in - a bar where you can find all the tools you’ll need to end your own life. But be careful… reservations are required before showing up!
Au Menu, J’ai Tué Roger Et La Pizza Quatre Fromages Supplément Pepperoni (On the Menu: I Killed Roger and The Four Cheese Pizza with Extra Pepperoni). A night in watching old VHS tapes is planned for Carol and friends… the only problem is, Carol has just killed Roger. The phone is ringing - it’s Pop’s, the King of Dismemberment, who’s here to help Carol solve her dead body problem.
